Known as the Wonder Five, the
1940-41 Centralia High School Basketball
Team won 42 straight games; averaged 50
points per game, and 28 points per game more
than their opponents; finished third in
state. This was the best team NEVER
to win a state title, final record 44-2.
This team was a charter inductee into the
Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall
of Fame in 1973.
