opponents 336-39 while chalking up a 9-0-2
record. They were deemed the number one team
in Southern Illinois and received state-wide
recognition. Captain Lowell Spurgeon
received first team All-State honors for a
second year. Half-back Vernon Struck gained
honorable mention All-State recognition.
