Don
was another one of those ardent sports
enthusiasts so well known in Centralia over
the years.
He followed all sports, but Centralia High
School was the main game in town.
Don and his family were a fixture at
all high school events and he hardly missed
a basketball or football game from the late
20's to the early 70's.
When he passed away he had
super-sectional tickets in his pocket.
In his early years Don participated on the
Hoffman Clothiers independent basketball
team when they won 100 games and lost only
two in two years.
He was an active bowler and tennis
player and served as president on the
Organizational Bowling League.
Don was also active in other
community projects as he served as president
of the Jaycees.
