Tom Wargo moved to Southern
Illinois in the Mid 70’s and joined the
staff at Centralia’s Greenview Golf Course
in 1982 as the Club Pro. He won a record ten
PGA Club Pro events.
In 1992, he had the best Club Pro finish in
the PGA Championship, and was named PGA Club
Pro of the Year. In December, he
qualified for the Senior PGA tour. Wargo let
everyone know he was for real by winning the
PGA Senior Championship event in April of
1993.
He
has won three other tour events and captured
the 1994 Senior British Open.
