He was Centralia Grade School
basketball coach from 1924-1925 through
1959-1960. While accumulating a record of
568-122, his teams won four State titles and
placed second on three occasions. He was a member of the Centralia Recreation
board for many years and was inducted into
the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association
Hall of Fame in 1974.
