Erwin "Zuke" Gansauer
The Centralia Sports Hall of Fame
1986 Individual Award Winner


 

"Zuke" was a bowling “machine” on the local lanes in the 1940’s and 1950’s. He bowled three sanctioned perfect games and was the first bowler in Centralia league bowling history to record a 300 game. 

He simultaneously carried a 192 average in two leagues and a 196 average in a third league. He was named “King for a Day” at the American Bowling Congress Golden Jubilee Tournament in Chicago. He garnered this honor by recording the highest individual score (256) on the Egyptian York squad. 

Gansauer was an outstanding pitcher in Centralia Twilight Baseball Leagues.  He played minor league ball ifor the Cassville (Missouri) Tigers in 1935-1936, and in 1947 played for the Centralia Cubs team at the old Fans Field. (See Gansauer stats
