Four-time Gold Glove third
baseman for the Minnesota Twins (1986, 1987,
1988, 1989). 1987 MVP of the American League
Championship Series. Called the team leader
by his manager, as the Twins won the 1987
World Series.
After stints with the California Angels
(1991), Kansas City Royals (1993), St. Louis
Cardinals (1996), Chicago Cubs (1998),
Boston Red Sox (2000), the twenty year
veteran retired from major league baseball
on 4-14-00. The two-time All-Star had career totals of
.255 batting average, 360 HR, 1,340 RBI,
1,130 runs, 2,280 hits, in 2,340 games.
In 2012 Gaetti was recognized as a
distinguished alumnus by the Centralia High
School Alumni Association.
